Look up and learn

Would you like to learn more about astronomy? This popular Basic Course in Astronomy will give you an overview of astronomy and what is out there in the universe.
Topics dealt will include the history of astronomy, the solar system and the planets, stars and constellations, deep-sky objects (nebulae, galaxies etc.), astronomical equipment and the basics of astro photography.

Thursday, 16 October – The history of astronomy
Thursday, 23 October – The Sun and our planetary system
Wednesday 29 October – The stars – constellations to black holes
Saturday, 1 November – Observing session with the telescope
Thursday, 6 November – Beyond the solar system – into the depths of the Universe
Thursday, 13 November – Astronomical instruments
Saturday 15 November – Astrophotography
