I made a batch of these as a last minute ‘gift’ and they went down very well!
You will need a pack of filo pastry
100g poppy seeds
100g icing sugar
3 tbsp water
eggwash
Pre heat the oven to 190 C and defrost the pastry.
Blitz the poppyseeds and icing sugar together and then add water, stirring in by hand till you have a black paste.
Unfold the pastry (when it is room temperature) and seperate into two batches of 3 sheets.
Eggwash around the edges and spoon the poppyseed mixture into three lines.
Roll up the pastry and eggwash the top. Cut into slices and bake in the oven till browned.
Allow to cool and serve.
