Every year this fundraising family event helps provide Din l-Art Helwa with some income for the upkeep and maintenance of this spectacular garden located on the 17th Century bastion in Floriana that overlooks Marsamxetto Creek and Fort Manoel. The garden is set amongst early 19th century neo-classic monuments commemorating famous persons who died in Malta. Din L-Art Helwa won the 2001 Silver Medal from Europa Nostra for its painstaking restoration of this site.
The fair is taking place on Saturday 7 December 2013 between 09:30-13:00. Entrance to the Christmas Fair and the garden itself will be free of charge.
Din l-Art Helwa is making a call for donations of potted plants, bric-a-brac, cakes, jams, books and Christmas ware to be sold at this event. Anyone wishing to donate items is kindly asked to give them to the volunteers at the garden during opening hours – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as well as on Sunday 1st December from 0930-1200
The Msida Bastion Historic Garden is signposted and it is best reached by taking the first turning left on Great Siege Road and then again the first turn left after the entrance of the Excelsior Hotel.
