Christmas Makeup – Zoom Edition!

I normally post a full on glamour look this time of year in the lead to Christmas. If you would like to see a glam tutorial, you can click herehttps://www.indulge.com.mt/speedy-sparkly-christmas-make-up/ to find last years gorgeous festive look.

This year, given the circumstances, I decided to give you tips on a nice fresh winters day look that’s perfect if you are going on a walk about or having family Zoom time at Christmas, which I think a lot of of will be! Something that’s natural but still put together if you want to dress up a bit for the day – or any other day for that matter.

When I think of winter makeup,  I always think of flushed rosy cheeks and fresh skin.

Below are some steps and products to help you achieve such a look very easily with minimal product.  The best part is, it can be done in a few

Minutes only using your hands.

Base

Choose your favourite foundation, I like a sheer coverage followed by a touch of concealer for the blemishes and under eye. I like to use my hands to really marry the foundation well with the skin and stimulate blood flow to the surface and create a more natural finish.

Use a light reflecting concealer for under the eye, such as MAC mineralise to really brighten your complexion and have you camera ready!

Fake the flush!

Did anyone ever tell you do pinch your cheeks? Maybe don’t do that!

This is the main part of this look, some of us only need to walk a few metres or be in a warm environment to see a pinkish red hue come through to our skin. In my case I kind of get blotchy! Still I think it looks super healthy and gorgeous but for a more focussed flush, a cream blusher in a rosy pink shade or even a lipstick will do this for you, again dabbing in to the cheeks with your fingers.

Highlight

Another key to the flushed look, is having a natural glow and I’m not talking the glitter soaked products we see everywhere , I mean a sheen. This can easily be achieved with a product like Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream (used very sparingly) tapped on top of your cream blush and left to settle. Alternatively a teeny amount of Vaseline will do the job too.

Eyes

Sweep a creamy eye base on to your lids in a champagne colour like the ones from maybelline (colour tattoo) for an effortless shadow look and brighter eyes, followed by a good coating of your favourite mascara.

Brows

A quick brush through with a gel or brown mascara will give you softly defined and groomed brows in seconds. Tip: brush up and out using minimal product.

Lips

The other key to achieving the look!

Opts for Berry and red tones to keep with Winter spirit and and don’t overly define the lips.

I like to use the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream first and then scribble my favourite rosy lip liner on top to give a tinted effect.

If you like the sound of this look, especially in terms of the colours I suggested, but still like a heavier look then it’s just so easy to adapt. Just remember the two key steps on the cheeks and lips!
