The company has raised over €20,000 to-date in support of the organisation
For the fourth consecutive year, leading local company De La Rue Malta has chosen to support Beyond the Moon, an international charity based in Belgium that offers seriously-ill children and their families the chance to go on a cost-free dream vacation.
In December, the management of De La Rue Malta presented a cheque of €4,000 to Ms Marisa Xuereb, Sponsor Ambassador for Beyond the Moon in Malta, as their latest show of support.
Since 2017, several initiatives organised by De La Rue Malta staff have raised over €20,000 in aid of this important philanthropic cause. To-date, thanks to the funds raised by the company, three Maltese families with a seriously-ill child have had the opportunity to enjoy a memorable, cost-free vacation in a child-friendly environment and spend carefree quality time together. Once it is safe enough to travel, another two Maltese families will be able to benefit from these latest funds to enjoy a similar once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“Sadly, the travel and other restrictions brought about by COVID-19 are still prevalent and, of course, we have not been able to organise any fundraising events in public recently,” says Ms Xuereb. “So it is with deep gratitude that we receive this latest donation from De La Rue Malta, a company that has been consistent in its support of Beyond the Moon over the past few years. Heartfelt thanks go to the team members for their monthly contributions.”
“We look forward to the day when we can use these funds to organise a holiday for two families with a sick child, away from the daily struggles they face with hospital visits and treatments,” Ms Xuereb adds.
