Early bird discounts now available for Patrick Marber’s multi-award-winning comedy, Closer.

For a limited time only, tickets may be purchased for Masquerade Malta’s 2019 upcoming production of Patrick Marber’s Closer at an exclusive early bird discounted price, it has been announced.

Until 14 January, audiences can pick up any tickets to the internationally-acclaimed play for just €15, discounted from normal prices of up to €20 per ticket.

Winning both the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play and the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy, Closer by Patrick Marber is a must-see black comedy of sex, honesty and betrayal. Following the story of Dan, Alice, Anna and Larry, the play explores the modern concept of love and, as the characters’ four lives intertwine, how they struggle to find intimacy but can’t seem to get closer.

Opening at London’s National Theatre in 1997, Closer has since become an international success, having been translated into thirty languages and even being adapted for the big screen, in a film starring Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen.

“As big fans of Patrick Marber’s work, we are very happy to have obtained the rights to perform this play in Malta,” says Masquerade’s creative director Anthony Bezzina. “We are delighted to be staging Closer as our next production of the season, at our very own intimate theatre space, Blue Box.”

With Bezzina as director, the Masquerade production of Patrick Marber’s Closer will also feature some of Malta’s best performance talent, including Mikhail Basmadjian, Jean-Marc Cafa, Nadia Vella and Alexandra Camilleri Warne.

Masquerade Malta’s production of Closer by Patrick Marber will be performed at Blue Box – M Space, Oscar Zammit Street, Msida on 1, 2, 8, 9, 10 February 2019. All shows start at 8pm and are suitable for mature audiences only. Tickets are available by visiting www.masquerademalta.com
