Skolasport, organised by Kunsill Malti għall-iSport (KMS) with the support of Kellogg’s, concluded its 2013-2014 programme with the end-of-year show. Skolasport participants gathered at the Cottonera Sports Complex to show their talent and sport abilities in front of an audience consisting of proud parents, relatives and friends.
The event, compered by popular TV sports personality Pamela Schembri, kicked off with a gymnastic demonstration and was followed by dance routines with groups of children from the various KMS Skolasport disciplines. The event closed off with a brilliant performance by Gaia Cauchi, winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013, who sang ‘The Start’ much to the delight of all the children and spectators.
During a short address Chris Cachia, National Sales Manager at Charles Darmanin Co Ltd, local distributers of Kellogg’s, said: “Kellogg’s has been supporting and working hand in hand with Skolasport for the past 14 years, as it believes in its valuable service in developing sport talents among the young Maltese generation. Furthermore, both Kellogg’s and Skolasport encourage a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet and active sports participation,”
For the fifth year, the ‘Annabelle Vassallo Award’ for the most committed coach was presented to Ms. Roxanne Gauci who is the Skolasport Dance and Ballet Teacher, by the Hon. Chris Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport. Ms Gauci has been working with KMS for these past 4 years.
The show ended with a Zumba dance led by Joanna Refalo with most of the participants and friends joining in the fun activity.
