The Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit will be organising its fifth edition of the ‘EFRU Cycling Tour’. The event will be held in Sicily on the 13th and 14th June 2014. This year’s 315km challenge is limited to 30 participants on first-come, first-served basis. The route for the 2 day event has been planned for the semi-professional cyclist and will consist of a circular route starting and finishing in Pozzallo with an overnight stay near Agrigento.
This year’s donation is that of €350. This includes the ferry, one night stay at an Agriturismo facility, a snack upon arrival, dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday. Profits incurred from this event will go directly towards the purchase of a second hand ambulance which is much needed for our various operations.
As in the past, a rescue team equipped with water, first aid and other necessary supplies will accompany the cyclists at all times, to tend to their needs and keep everyone on track.
