For the past few years, the Planning Authority has striven to empower the public and stakeholders by offering them further knowledge on a range of planning issues. To this end, the Authority is once again hosting a series of short evening lectures. These are aimed at gaining a better understanding about different aspects directly related to planning.
The lectures will cover a range of topics including some of those which previously proved popular – History of Architecture in Malta; Online Planning Services; Best practices in Restoring your Old Home, and Commercial Development – Planning and Practice, among others. The PA will also be introducing new topics which it believes will help to keep the customer or professional up-to-date with the trends and changes happening in the area of planning. The latest topics vary from The How, What and When of a Planning Application; Interior Design; Green Transport Plans; Planning for Sustainable Development; as well as Rehabilitation and Conservation of the Cittadella in Gozo.
As in previous years, the presentations will be given by key speakers from the Authority, as well as prominent names in the planning and interior design industry. These include Malta Architecture Award-winners Periti Martin Xuereb, Alexia Gingell Little John, and Sarah Zammit Calleja. All lectures will be conducted in English and a participation certificate will be sent to participants.
Lectures will be held between 18:00 and 20:00hrs on Tuesdays, starting from October, at the Planning Authority offices in Floriana. A limited number of first come-first-served spaces are available against a fee of €10 per lecture. All proceeds will be donated to The Hospice Movement (Malta).
If you are interested and would like to apply, check out the user-friendly prospectus on the Authority’s website www.pa.org.mt for further details about each and every topic, including their respective dates. You may also send an email to eveninglectures@pa.org.mt if you would like to book to attend one or more of the lectures.
