Fake awake!
In keeping with my last post about sleep deprivation among parents of newborns, I thought it only appropriate to give you all a few makeup and skincare tips to perk you up when you’re exhausted but don’t want to look it!
Eyes
The number one give away of tiredness is the eye area and the best products to look more awake are a good brightening concealer and mascara.
I love touché eclat by YSL and L’Oréal concealer and eye cream pen as well as Clinique dramatically different mascara.
Brow lamination and lash lifts will give you the groomed look for up to 8 weeks, also! My favourite treatments that I currently specialise in…. well at this point in time I specialise in home schooling!
Cold water
After your morning cleanse and before your moisturiser, splash your skin with cold water or press a cold wet face cloth around your face for a fresher look. It will feel good too.
Highlighter
A subtle high lighter can do wonders but make sure to place it on the face strategically, like corners of eyes and on the brow bone for a lifting, wide eye effect.
Rosy shades,
Using pinks for blusher and lips give a lovely flushed look. Applying a subtle amount of a rosy brush across the bridge of the nose on to cheeks will give a realistic so kisses look in seconds… in fact it something that’s really trending at the moment (been done for years) and I will go in to more dept in my upcoming spring makeup post!
White/cream kohl
Get yourself a nice creamy kohl pencil in a white or cream shade. Applied to the waterline, it gives the appearance of bright eyes and knocks back any redness.
Glowy tinted moisturiser or foundation.
My favourite is the Rommel natural radiance foundation right now it’s just brilliant, I can’t recommend it enough! The right amount of coverage and glow all in one, goes on so easily too! I also love Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers for effortlessly evened out and brightened skin.
Water, and plenty of it!
