This recipe may not sound so great, or look so good, but believe me, after a night on cherry wine, nothing beats it.
Use one thick slice of bread, the segments of half an orange, slice black pudding in 1cm pieces and lay on top, then toast for 5 minutes. The oranges should ‘burst’ and the black pudding’s fat will ooze up and moisten the bread.
Drizzle over some honey – if you have orange blossom variety, use that – and serve. You can add leaves if not for medicinal purposes. For black pudding haters – slice the bread more thinly and add another thin slice as the cover. They’ll never know!
