Giovanna Vella, a 54-year-old Learning Support Assistant from Mġarr got carried away with €350 worth of quality health products at last weekend’s Holland & Barrett trolley dash.
Ms Vella dashed through the new Holland & Barrett store in Sliema after being announced the lucky winner of the Get Carried Away Facebook competition on Friday May, 22.
“Before discovering Holland & Barrett, I used to buy all my health food products from abroad and I’m very grateful that whatever I need is now closer to home. I would like to thank all the customers and staff who cheered me on during this exciting challenge, and Mario, who helped carry my heavy trolley!” said an enthusiastic Ms Vella.
Power-lifting champion Mario Mifsud assisted the winner by helping her locate the randomly marked Holland & Barrett items, and carried her trolley across the 300 square metre Sliema store.
The adrenalin-pumping challenge saw both try to locate the randomly marked products, which altogether tallied up to €500, and fill up the trolley in one minute.
An extra 30 seconds were added to the participants’ surprise as a bonus round, by the end of which her trolley was loaded with over 20 quality health products, ranging from food items like oats, nuts and rice cakes to natural cosmetics like shampoo, coconut oil and bath salts.
“Our first trolley dash was a great success and we will definitely organise more in the future. We were very happy to meet Ms Giovanna Vella. She was a great sport and worthy of the prize. Holland & Barrett would like to thank all those who participated on Facebook and our brand ambassador Mario Mifsud for his help,” said Stefan Borg Manduca, Holland & Barrett Director.
The Get Carried Away trolley dash took place at the new Holland & Barrett flagship store in Tower Road, Sliema on May 23rd. Holland & Barrett customers shopping before 1pm on the day were treated to 20% off all products.
Holland & Barrett arrived in Malta in 2009 and has since opened five stores in Attard, Fgura, Sliema, St Julian’s and Valletta.
