Now entering its tenth year, the Young Cavaliers Summer Club has always been a very popular program of activities for children over the summer period, guaranteeing fun, excitement and a bunch of creativity!

Accepting children of all ages from 3 – 16, the clubs offer a varied amount of activities in different programmes, including a Drama Club for children aged 6 – 12, which encourages participants to create a script for a play from beginning to end is an opportunity for children to immerse themselves in a chosen theme and learn about it in a profound and personal way. Acting it out gives the children a great sense of ownership about what they have created whilst making the props allows self-expression.

An Art Club for the same age group will include the exploration of a number of art techniques using recycled materials, in a way which brings out the child’s creativity, leading to a final exhibition and show for parents.

A Teen Club is also tailored for children who are a bit older, including a number of different topics such as sound production, gastronomy, light drawing & photography, shadow puppet theatre, drama and much more!

The Tiny Tots Club is also available for children between 3 – 5, keeping the toddlers active and creative by giving them a hands-on introduction to basic art using different materials, techniques, bold colours and textures to create work for their first exhibition.

Young Cavaliers Clubs will stretch over the summer period and happen at St. James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta. More information and applications can be found on www.sjcav.org or by calling Ms. Amanda Palmier on 21223216. E-mail: schoolprogrammes@sjcav.org
