A new workshop space has been opened in Lija to teach sewing and crafts to adults and teens, offering classes on “pimping’ of existing clothes, creating a dress in a day, simple skirts and t-shirt hacks and bag making….. to start with.
The workshop, which seats 6 comfortably, is equipped with sewing machines, overlocks (serger) and other tools to make a variety of items including bags.
International tutors are being invited to hold workshops with the first being Caroline Smith of SewLaDiDa Vintage, who will spend two days guiding students through any of her patterns which are retro styles in today’s sizes. This workshop will take place on 10th & 11th of May.
One-to-one and group sessions are available with Monique Chambers, a sewaholic and creator of the Indulge In Me line of women’s wear.
Baby showers can also be organised whereby groups are able to make mini kimonos and wrap jackets, to give a more personalised gift to the new addition.
