The highly anticipated Isle of MTV Malta Special is back in its 7th year with an all-star international artist line up, to be held on the 26th June 2013. The Malta Tourism Authority together with Viacom International Media Networks has announced two of the world’s hottest new acts; Rita Ora and dance collective Rudimental as the headlining artists in the line-up, with more to be announced. This annual free outdoor music extravaganza has become one of the most established events of the summer music calendar attracting festival goers from near and far to come together for one, unforgettable experience.
The eclectic, free open air European Music Event will rock the picturesque Il Fosos Square, Floriana, Malta. Thousands of music lovers will descend upon this historic sun kissed Mediterranean town to experience some of the world’s most established artists. Isle of MTV has built a reputation for showcasing some of the biggest names from the global music scene which has seen the likes of Will.i.am, Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, The Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO perform in front of an audience of more than 50,000 each year – with this years Isle of MTV Malta is going to be bigger and better than ever.

Rita Ora, a smouldering UK songstress with a slice of attitude is the name on everybody’s lips right now. Following her sizzling performance opening at the MTV EMA in Frankfurt in November, Rita Ora is set to bring her distinctive mash up of R&B and pop with a splash and funk to the Isle of MTV stage. The 22-year-old British singer-songwriter caught the world’s attention after being picked up by Jay-Z and signed to his label Roc Nation. Her debut album Ora entered the UK album charts at No. 1 last year and gave rise to three No. 1 singles, making Rita Ora the artist with the most No. 1 singles in the UK in 2012.
Bursting onto the international music scene in 2012, Rudimental are one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the UK in recent years. On the back of their breakthrough single Feel the Love, which reached No. 1 on the official UK singles chart, and their powerful follow up track Not Giving In, Rudimental recently embarked on their second international tour, crossing the USA, Australia and the UK. Their debut album Home will be released on April 29 via Asylum Records/Warner Music Group. “We can’t wait to touch down in Malta to play live for MTV! See you all in June!” they said.
