Hotel Phoenicia’s rotunda set in 7.5 acres of lush sprawling gardens was the al fresco venue for Jazz on the Fringe last Wednesday evening, part of the Malta Jazz Festival. Invitees together with hotel guests and members of the public enjoyed an evening of jazz with trio Sandro Zerafa on guitar, Yoni Zelnik playing doublebass and Karl Jannuska tapping out on the drums.
For the event Hotel Phoenicia hosted a number of VIP’s including representatives from Arts Malta, V18, international journalists from Jazzwise, Jazz Journal and The Player International Magazine along with BBC Radio 3 and Jazz Line-up, together with several other high-profile guests.
Mr. Azzopardi said, “It’s a fantastic way to get to know your guests better by gathering for an evening of entertainment in a unique setting. As a sponsor of culture, we are delighted to have been given the opportunity once again to be part of the Jazz on the Fringe and to have such a strong attendance in only our second year hosting this event. It’s been a joy seeing so many smiling faces. Sandro and the rest of the trio put on a marvelous show. Charles Gatt’s installation ‘Freedom Fighters’ also brought a new dimension to the event this year”.
