Dutch pianist Mike del Ferro returns once again to the Manoel this time as part of a jazz trio on Wednesday 20th May 2015 at 8pm.
Mike is no stranger to the Manoel and returns to the Theatre after a number of successful gigs. Mike is a highly sought-after composer, pianist and arranger who writes and performs in an impressive array of musical genres. He has travelled the world extensively (over 100 countries), searching for collaborations with musicians from cultures quite different to his own, and the musical results have been eye-opening, building musical bridges between cultures not normally within reach of each other. He has managed to combine elements of the revered canons of Western music interspersed with the audacity of Jazz improvisation whilst paying tribute to the ancient structures of Asian, South American and African traditional music.
This time Mike will be joined by Boudewijn Lucas on bass and Bruno Castellucci on drums and they will be performing an eclectic and fantastic mix of standard jazz and original songs. The event is being sponsored by Friends of the Manoel.
Tickets are €20 with discounts for students and senior citizens. Free for Primary school children.
