KMS Skolasport participates in the Family Fun Run during the Malta marathon

04 - Skolasport - Marathon - 2Around 70 young participants from KMS Skolasport had the chance to put into practice their training by taking part in yesterday’s Family Fun Run. The 1.5km long marathon, which was held during the annual Land Rover Malta Marathon, covered the distance from the Ferries in Sliema to Manoel Island and back.

“For the majority of these young athletes it is their first-hand experience in a marathon. KMS Skolasport endeavours to give participants the right exposure to sports disciplines while encouraging constant physical exercise coupled with a healthy lifestyle as an essential base for every sport,” said Robert Portelli, Head of KMS Skolasport Programmes.  Prior to the Fun Run, the children were entertained by Kellogg’s Coco the Monkey and Pippo the Clown with face painting and magic tricks. All the participants who finished the Fun Run were given a medal and a goodie bag.

Organised by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport, the Kellogg’s-sponsored KMS Skolasport programme is the starting point for many Maltese children and youths in their discovery and enjoyment of sports and active lifestyles. This is why Kellogg’s, the world’s leading producer of breakfast cereal, is the official sponsor of Skolasport for the past 13 years.
