The Alfred Mizzi Foundation made a generous donation of €1,500 to the Malta Historical Society, in a show of continued support of the monthly lectures organized by the Society for the general public.The Alfred Mizzi Foundation donation was made by Mr Derek Vella to Judge Giovanni Bonello, President of the MHS, on the occasion of the resumption of the 2013-2014 lecture series following the summer break. After the presentation, a highly informative lecture was given by Dr Antoine Zammit on ‘Urban Planning in Malta: Its historical development and influence today’. The event was held at Palazzo Santa Sofia, Mdina on 24th September, with the kind support of Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum, Mdina.
The event was attended by a large audience who showed their appreciation and put several questions to the speaker. The audience was then invited to post-lecture drinks. Several guests also took the opportunity to sign up as members of the Malta Historical Society (www.maltahistory.eu).
