Maltese with a twist cookbook launched

Meike Peters, the James Beard Award–winning cookbook author and creator of the acclaimed food blog Eat In My Kitchen, returns with an exciting new cookbook to treat yourself to a year of home cooking, with a recipe for every day of the year.

“My cooking is guided by the seasonal calendar. I love having nature’s wide spectrum of colours and flavours on my plate,” Meike says. The colourful salads, vegetable tarts, fragrant pastas, simmering stews, cosy cakes, and savoury baked goods, many with her unique European and Maltese twists, are the dishes that her devoted fans and followers crave. And, she has served up 365 of them in this culinary tome!

When Meike started her blog Eat In My Kitchen in 2013, she shared one dish a day for a year. 365 springs from those roots and encourages the you to make at least one thing for yourself every day. Gather around the table for a Sunday supper of Roasted Chicken with Grapes and Garlic or a Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder with Cider, Apples, and Spices. Shake off a fall chill with a steaming bowl of Parsnip and Pear Soup with Mascarpone.

The recipes in November and December are perfect for any holiday celebration or gathering including Meike’s comforting dishes and signature baked goodies. Spice up Thanksgiving with Meike’s Pumpkin Pie with Coriander Caramel or serve a holiday feast of Christmassy Braised Beef Shanks with Spices and Red Wine.

Season by season, Meike serves up one showstopper after another. The flavours of spring come alive with Spring Timpana with Asparagus, Peas, and Leek; Rhubarb Meringue Pie; and Roasted Asparagus with Strawberries, Tarragon, and Crumbled Eggs. Dine al fresco in the summer with Roasted Eggplant with Basil Ricotta; Raw Asparagus and Peach Salad with Orange Blossom Water and Pecorino; and Sautéed Zucchini with Melon and Pecorino.

Indeed, it’s of little wonder that The New York Times has already listed 365 as one of ‘The 13 Best Cookbooks of Fall 2019’.

365 is sure to become the new home-cooking bible which will inspire anyone in the kitchen the whole year and beyond.
