NCW retains sponsor

HSBC Malta has extended its sponsorship to the National Council of Women (NCW) of Malta for a further three years.  This sponsorship supports the Council’s communication strategy and channels including the running of its website and the publication of its quarterly newsletter, now approaching its 90th edition.

52 - HSBC Malta extends its support for NCW Malta - 02“NCW Malta is a key player in promoting and supporting gender equality in Malta,” said HSBC Malta’s Chief Financial Officer Josephine Magri.  “Our support for the NCW is in line with the Bank’s drive to promote a diverse and fair work environment and to help women achieve their full potential.  This agreement also builds upon the collaborative efforts between the Council and HSBC’s ‘Banking on Women’ organisation, offering support and guidance to women in their career and personal goals.”

“While significant progress has been achieved in certain respects, there remains a lot of room for improvement in terms of gender equality in Malta,” said NCW President Mary Gaerty. “The NCW organises diverse activities to promote equality of opportunity for women and empower women to participate equally at all levels of community life.  HSBC Malta’s sponsorship goes a long way in helping the Council work towards these objectives.”

NCW Malta is an independent non-governmental organisation including individual members and 33 affiliated organisations in Malta.  As a member of the International Council Of Women (ICW), NCW Malta operates with Special Consultative Status within the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
