New Board for Malta Girl Guides

The Malta Girl Guides have elected a new Chief Commissioner, Deputy Chief
Commissioners and National Board. The new Chief Commissioner Ms Rachel
Aquilina, took the lead of Malta’s largest association for girls and women,
following acting Chief Commissner, Ms Claire Duff, earlier this year.
Ms Aquilina has been an active member since she was a child. She started her
Girl Guiding journey with the Luqa Girl Guides. Later as an adult volunteer she
worked within various working groups and took on various posts at National
Board level including those of Programme Commissioner and South District
Commissioner. The Chief Commissioner’s term is three years long and can be
renewed for another three years.

MGG President Ms Carmen Camilleri thanked the outgoing chief commissioner
and national board members for their commitment and hard work during their
term of office. She also wished the best of luck to the new national board
members.

The Malta Girl Guides’ new National Board consists of Deputy Chief
Commissioners Dr Cynthia Duncan and Ms Elaine Attard, Secretary Ms Claire
Formosa, Treasurer Ms Noella Pisani, International Commissioner Ms Chantelle
Galea, Programme Commissioner Ms Andrea Grima, Training Commissioner, Ms
Maureen Amoroso and Youth Committee Representative, Ms Kristina Manicaro,
At district level, the South District elected Ms Antoniette Seychell as South
District Commissioner and Ms Stephanie Caruana as Deputy. The North district
is represented by North District Commissioner Ms Tamaia Micallef Mifsud and
Deputy, Ms Gwen Gatt. The Central District is represented by Central District
Commissioner Ms Analise Scicluna and Deputy Ms Katya Galea

A marketing professional by trade, Monique's passion is to promote local talent and Malta in general. Free time is her biggest indulgence, when she can tinker in her craft room or the kitchen, or be selfish with a book, the sofa and good glass of wine (of course, wearing something beautiful and with freshly coiffed hair!)
