If you thought as me that you have to be professional for enjoying making art, the art classes by Sip and Paint Malta will change your mind. I took part in Sip and Paint class on the Sliemas beach, but the site has so much more events to offer.
Our teacher and mentor of the class Victoria Chan found a beautiful spot, which I recognised immediately, when I arrived. This improvised art studio under the open sky was prepared with art supplies such as brushes, canvases, canvas stands, aprons and paints.
We were separated into two groups of four, I was there alone, so I spent great time meeting new people. We were super international group, me from Czech Republic, next to me the girl from Thailand, who studies in England and opposite to us long distant friends, one from Brazil, who lives few years here in Malta and the other from Ireland. Everyone were really friendly and we talked and talked the whole time.
As I said, I am not exactly good painter, but I enjoyed the class as I was one. Victoria toured us through whole painting step by step. We used only four colours (white, pink, blue and black), we needed just one brush and then toothbrush for stars effect and the finished product is beautiful night sky with stars.
People were walking past us, looking at our pictures and felt like a main character in some romantic comedy, when the girl is going through rough break-up, and she is trying to do things on her own. Well, I didn´t need a break-up to do something like that and still it was super fun and healing date just with myself.
The workshop is about one and half hour long and the price €30, which includes all the materials and a glass of wine.
