Teatru Manoel presents a unique recital entitled “Bach, Rhythm and More” performed by percussionist Peter Sadlo and friends
on Tuesday 22nd October at 8pm. This is the first time this leading musician is performing in Malta.
Peter Sadlo, widely recognised as one of the leading percussionists of our time, has been invited to perform by renowned orchestras around the world from Radio Symphonie Orchestra Berlin, SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, Nuremberg Philharmonic Orchestra to the Orchestras of Hagen, Bochum and Wuppertal, Orchestra Nazionale Sinfonica della RAI Turin, Orquesta Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias, Beijing Symphony, Nagoya Philharmonic and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony amongst others.
At only 20 years old, he became solo timpanist of the Munich Philharmonic. A position he has held for 15 years. Apart from his touring as solo and ensemble percussionist, Peter Sadlo teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and at the Mozarteum Salzburg.
Peter Sadlo, equally at home in the complex structure of big symphonies as well as in contemporary sounds and the improvisation of jazz music, presents, with his ensemble, not only compositions of the baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach but a listening experience that can only be described as a true wonder. He will be accompanied by percussionists Andreas Csok, Claudio Estay, Kiril Stoyanov and Simone Rubino. With their extraordinary combined skills they bring fire, sophistication and an energised approach to Bach’s music.
Tickets are priced at €20, €15 and €10 with a 50% discount for students, under 25s and kartanzjan holders on selected seats.
