“Democracies flourish when large numbers of citizens acquire the capacity to shape civic and economic life. Social Entrepreneurship is a process that enables citizens to do that.” Azadeh Tajdar (Co-founder/Director, ofShetab, Center for Business & Social Innovation in Kabul, Afghanistan) This quote captures the essence underlying the motivation of the founders of the newly formed Social Entrepreneurs Association Malta.
The Association has been founded by Zen D’Amato Gautam (EcoMarket Malta), Alexandra Cachia (Thrive Malta), Viviana Premazzi (Global Mindset Development), Patrizia Patti (EcoMarineMalta), and Emanuela DeGiorgio (The Veg Box), with the support and guidance of Dr. Roberta Lepre from Weave Consulting.

The Association aims to bring together like-minded organizations, companies and people who believe that social entrepreneurship in Malta has huge potential and who are ready to participate in the development and strengthening of the sector. Specifically, the association will embark on a number of projects and initiatives aimed at fostering knowledge about local and global social issues;advocating for the interests of the sector at local, regional and national levels; improving the capacity of members; informing society about social entrepreneurship; and any other activities which are ancillary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
The association is now open for membership to those who identify as social entrepreneurs, and to individuals interested in the subject, including academics and students.
