Summer pamper – Feet!
Walking barefoot might feel great in this weather but have a closer look at how your feet look in sandals…..
If you can’t make the salon for a pedicure, here’s some tips (that I also need to follow myself) to get fabulous feet for the season.
Soak
Start by soaking your feet in some Epsom salts (not advised if pregnant* check with your doc) and essential oils or a muscle relaxing bath foam like radox. Enjoy the the aroma and bonus for relaxing at the same time.
The purpose is too soften the skin and nails for easier grooming to follow!
Scrub
Using a nail brush scrub the skin and nails to rid any dry skin or build up. You may need to use a Pumos stone for harder skin usually under the foot.
Nail time
Once the feet are clean and scrubbed, cut your toenails neatly and file to desired shape. I find harder files better on stronger toe nails.
For a long lasting nail paint, use a base coat, followed by 2 coats of your favourite colour and finished with a top coat. I love essence, wet and wild and Sally Hansen.
These steps will give a much nicer result and prevent nail staining.
Tip: tidy and messy edges with a Cotten bud dipped in remover.
Complete using a Foot mask
I have just tried an AMAZING foot mask from Seoulista and for me this is the best bit of the routine – it’s like a sock mask!
Massage well after the treatment is finished and your feet will be glowing and radiant! All ready for your sandals!
