Sustainable Saturdays – 3 Perfect Pop-Up Shops To Head To TODAY!

The concept of the “pop-up shop” has many benefits for both the seller and visitor. For small independent labels, they’re the perfect way to get out there and reach their market without the hefty commitments of a longterm retail outlet.

Whilst online trading has never been easier, it’s always better to be able to see merchandise in person. This way, the customer can try on pieces for size, and really get to grips with the quality of the product. Pop-up shops have picked up in a big way in Malta, especially this year, post-lockdown. Here are three funky sustainable fashion and craft events worth heading to today!

Lady Kitt Vintage

Malta’s most established and well-loved vintage fashion sellers Lady Kitt Vintage have been harnessing the power of the pop-up shop for yonks. Their events are a firm favourite in the sustainable fashion events calendar, pencilled in the diaries of magpie mavens all over the islands. This Saturday’s edition sees the launch of their summer stock, including the new addition of a range of vintage swimwear!

Sunny Side, Triq Guze Ellul Mercer Sliema. 10am – 6pm.

Indulge in Me

Find The Door in Birgu has proven to be Malta’s leading and largest emporium of independent artisan retailers. Whilst many craft and handmade sellers “pop-up” at the space for a limited time, Indulge In Me, a range of gorgeous handmade garments by Monique Chambers in riviera-esque prints now has an ongoing rail at the creative space. Perfect for adding a one-off, custom made piece to your sunny-weather wardrobes.

Find The Door, 27, Triq It-Tramuntana Vittoriosa. 10am – 6pm.

Studio107

Hosted by The Vintage Collection in their Tarxien studio, the face and crafty fingers behind Studio107, Martina Farrugia, will be bringing her quirky mix of handmade items to the public this weekend. Look out for snazzy patterned scrunchies upcycled from vintage material, and their fabric-covered notebooks are just perfect for jotting down all your creative ideas.

The Vintage Collection, St. Mary Street, Tarxien (not accessible from street level, so look out for the sign and buzzer!) 10am – 6pm.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend from Indulge! Xxx
