From the 8th to the 16th of April 2013, Patrick Jouin will be launching in Milan no less than four new creations, for Italian brands PEDRALI, GRUPO INDUSTRIALE BUSNELLI, MATTEOGRASSI, and the French brand FERMOB.
Patrick Jouin will also unveil his interpretation of the “Great JJ” lamp, in a treasure hunt organized by LEUCOS, along with other designers, and in an auction, which benefits will be donated to the Città della Speranza charity.
His creations are marked by elegance and technique: indoor and outdoor chairs, armchairs, couch, table… All these pieces of furniture, designed by the laureate of the Compasso d’Oro Prize, reflect the creative mood of his season in Milan. They appear as a natural continuation of various works in interior architecture and design, born of great collaborations, and recreate the spirit of Patrick Jouin’s own Milan.
Leaf, Lounge Chair, And Bridge For Matteograssi
At MatteoGrassi, a passion for fabrics, combined with demanding perfection, stands as the guideline of every collection. They share their values with Patrick Jouin.
For the Leaf lounge chair and its bridge variation, Patrick Jouin needed a specialist of “thick leather”, a special skin obtained thanks to a traditional vegetable tanning. This method produces especially resisting and smooth leather, used for straps, belts, and other particularly resistant pieces. This comfortable and unique armchair is designed around the idea of a simple folded leather sheet. The back shows an elegant saddler stitching, which brings together the skins used on the sides to form the back. The exterior is made of thick leather, the interior of supple leather, for a comfortable seat. Patrick Jouin has designed Leaf for the furniture of the Defense Ministry – built by architect Nicolas Michelin – particularly for the future office of the Minister.

Kate, Indoor Armchair For Fermob
Designed for the French leader of outdoor furniture, the KATE armchair has delicate and pure lines, and can be easily piled up.
It is made of perforated metal, with laser cut alveoles, revealing a gradation of motifs. The larger alveoles are placed in the center of the back, the smaller ones from the framework at the top and bottom of the back.
The feet and armrests, each made of a curved metal tube, run on each side of the chair to support the back up and down, so no additional parts are needed. This collaboration with FERMOB is part the “Idoles” line, which will be unveiled for the first time in Milan…
For Patrick Jouin, this collaboration is especially significant, since FERMOB was the fi st to present his work, especially his FACTO chair, which has since become an icon of outdoor furniture.

Ester: Armchair And Chair For Pedrali
Patrick Jouin has conceived ESTER as the synthesis of all he has learned from his working experiences with restaurants. Designed for Alain Ducasse restaurant at the Dorchester in London, ESTER is made to be practical: while remaining comfortable with its curved, wrapping back, it does not occupy too much space.
The armrests easily slide under the tablecloth, so they don’t stand in the way of the waiters. Patrick Jouin has taken special care with the design of the back of the chair, since it is what shows most in a restaurant… The result is a delicate monolith, with a removable leather cover. The feet of the chair seem to be wearing high heels… the designer has imagined an ingenious system to protect the part of the chair which suffers most in a restaurant.
ESTER offers an elegant solution, with its aluminum feet, covered (on their first half) with three finishes: black chrome, bronze or brushed.
Pedrali proposes ESTER for both individuals and professionals, in a large range of fabrics and leathers.

Table, Chair And Armchairs For Gruppo Industriale Busnelli
The collaboration between Patrick Jouin and Busnelli started in 2012, with the CHARME line, the CARUSO table and the MYLO armchair.
In 2013, the CHARME line extends, with the creation of a new armchair with a leather-covered metal base and a more comfortable stuffed seat.
Patrick Jouin has also designed a whole dining room for the Italian brand. Around a large dinner table, which dimensions will be tailormade, with an ash base (various colors available), and a custom made table, Patrick Jouin imagined a declination of seats: the MANDA collection. The collection is a clever set of combinations, based on two pairs of chair and armchair: a declination with two “shells” for the seat and the back, and one with three shells, for the seat, back and armrests…
The armrests give the chair the elegant touch of a small bridge, while the armchair, larger and wider, has a back which naturally forms the armrests. Each piece of furniture has a light, curvy and comfortable line.
