The Sky Movies Screen in association with Disney will showcase much-loved animated classics as well as Academy Award® nominated films including Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’, all in the beautiful outdoor setting of Hyde Park in London. From Monday 8 July – Thursday 11 July entertainment will be shown four times a day, with programming to suit all ages.
During the week, audiences will be treated to screenings of much-loved classics and recent blockbusters including ‘The Help’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Avengers Assemble’, ‘Finding Nemo’ plus the recently HD restored, Walt Disney Classic ‘The Jungle Book’. On 11th July, families will be amongst the first to be dazzled and swept up by the jivin’, toe-tapping, upbeat animation masterpiece when it returns to the big screen with its first ever UK sing-along screening, ahead of its Blu-ray release on 5th August.
Each morning at 10:30am, summer gets into full swing with content from the Disney Channels, including popular shows from the number one pay TV pre school channel, Disney Junior. Little ones will be treated to an hour and a half of hit shows on the big screen including the magical adventures of‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’, ‘Sofia the First’ and of course ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’.
At 1.00pm the cinema will feature ‘lunch break’ films, followed by ‘after-school’ screenings running from 4.30pm. At 7:30pm each night audiences will be treated to spectacular and thrilling action adventures, with blockbuster movies brought to the big screen in association with the forthcoming Disney film, ‘The Lone Ranger’ which will hit cinemas on 9th August.
The programme culminates in “The People’s Choice” on Thursday 11th at 7:30pm, where the public will be able to vote on which film they would like shown. The choices are ‘The Muppets’, ‘Wreck-It-Ralph’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ and ‘Toy Story 3’. Voting details can be found on bst-hydepark.com.
