The art of words

Imagine being able to look at your favourite book every day all in one place. That’s just what US company Litographs has managed to achieve creating posters from the text of classic books – bringing your favourite stories to life.

The idea behind the pAlice's_Adventures_in_Wonderlandosters is to capture the soul of a book in an image for you to enjoy, whether it’s the first thing you see when opening the front door, or has pride of place in your favourite room.

“From a distance the image looks like a piece of art and only close-up it becomes clear that the poster is created entirely from words,” commented Mike Foren, Litographs UK Managing Director. “These full colour posters are unique to the market and have real artistic merit created by talented artists from around the world,” Mike went on to say.

Litographs has quickly established a big following in the US selling tens of thousands of posters since the launch in 2011, going from strength to strength and now available to buy online and in many retail outlets including bookshops and art galleries in more than 20 UK locations.

There are currently 74 posters to choose from including children’s classics Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Peter Pan through to scientific literature, On the Origin of Species and vintage classic The Great Gatsby, Sense and Sensibility and Frankenstein, with two new titles being released every week.

The posters come in colour and black & white versions and in full and half poster sizes, packaged in beautiful poster tubes that will make an ideal gift. To see a full catalogue of gorgeous posters please visit www.litographs.com.
