ITS Malta is organising a presentation and workshop for those Voluntary Organisations involved in humanitarian activities. We would like to circulate this email to the Voluntary Organisations involved in humanitarian activities.
ITS Malta in collaboration with Logistics Learning Alliance (LLA) UK have the pleasure in inviting you for a presentation on humanitarian activities especially within the transport and logistics activities. A presentation and case –study from international humanitarian activities around the globe will be given by Mr. Haydn Sandvig, Consultant with Logistics Learning Alliance (LLA) in UK.
Malta like many countries are constantly reminded of the need for humanitarian aid and the provision of support programmes for those whose lives have been changed by disasters both man-made and natural. Never more evident than the refugee crises we see unfolding in different parts of the world but in which Malta is definitely on the front-line.
In the event of refugee crises humanitarian officers and logisticians are drafted in to respond rapidly and appropriately to assist the affected population with food, shelter, or medical care. They work with a variety of local and international partners to co-ordinate the procurement and distribution of relief supplies. Uniquely, LLA has worked with major NGO`s and UN organisations in the creation of humanitarian logistics development programme for those working in this sector. Since launching these programmes in 2006, over a 1000 officers and humanitarian supply chain specialists have undertaken training to develop their skills in these areas.
The presentation would take place at the Grand Hotel Excelsior – DeMedici level 5 on Thursday 18th June at 10.00. The entrance is free of charge on first come first served basis. Kindly book your seat by sending an email to ITS Malta on info@itsmalta.org.
