Valentines with the Kids

Valentine’s Day is an occasion that my husband and I don’t bother with… just being honest, even in the early days of our relationship, we never made it a thing.

This year I’ve decided to make it all about family and have a lovely day at home.

Here are some ideas to involve the kids!

Breakfast in bed,

Treat your other half (Charles if you’re reading this it refers to me)to some nice heart shaped pancakes or a fry up if preferred! Get the kids involved and throw a rose on the tray for good measure!

Colour theme the day

Kids and adults alike associate a lot with colour. Red being the Valentines staple, why not all wear something red and get some nice pics?

For younger kids, ask them to point out anything red they see throughout the day as a little activity.

Make hand made cards

They are lovely keep sakes and make for a nice activity if you’re stuck on craft ideas.

Pinterest as always have gorgeous ideas but a few sheets of paper and some crayons is all you need!

Have a themed dinner

Most of the supermarkets have loads of themed Valentines foods and seen as it’s Sunday, a roast is always a good idea!

Just setting the table and dressing up a bit will put the family in good spirits.

Have a fairytale night

Cinderella, beauty and the beast, The little mermaid and the rest! Get the goodies in and Curl up for a movie day/night. The kids will love it and any excuse for us to watch our Disney faves!

Bonus if you’ve some fair light lying around to warm the setting

Just be – together

As cheesy as this post is, the message is togetherness. You don’t have to spend a fortune to show the family how much you care, making memories (and eating) are always fail proof ways to have a lovely day and mark any occasion

Happy Valentines Day ❤️
