Join the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in a celebration of one of opera’s greatest composers, Giuseppe Verdi! The concert commemorating the bicentenary of the composer’s birth will take place on Saturday 14th December at Teatru Manoel, Valletta at 19:30 hrs.
This special evening will showcase the talented singers sopranos Claudia Tabone and Andriana Yordanova, baritone Joseph Lia and bass Albert Buttigieg performing various scenes form some of Giuseppe Verdi’s best loved Operas. The full-length concert features selections from Verdi’s masterpieces such as Rigoletto, La Forza del Destino, Nabucco Don Carlo, I Vespri Siciliani and Macbeth amongst others. The arias are flanked by some of the most spectacular Overtures in the operatic orchestral repertoire.
More than just a concert, Viva Verdi! is an exquisite evening of music filled with passion, romance, and unforgettable melodies. This grand celebration of Verdi’s music will be under the direction of Michael Laus. There is also a pre-concert talk for ticketholders at 6.45pm.
