What’s in fashion for decorations this Christmas?

Even those who are bah humbug about Christmas want their home to feel nice over the season. This year, three trends have been identified by the Ideal Home Show.

Homemade Christmas – The kitsch theme will be strong again this year, with a nod to the past with smaller animal accessories.

Kunle Barker Says: “Make your own decoration with the kids from foraged pine cones and natural materials you collect from places like the park.”

The Contemporary Look – For a more contemporary look, make your decorations simple and minimal. Choose some statement pieces with clean lines to give your festive look a modern edge and combine light colours for a whimsical fresh look.

A Vintage Christmas – If you have baubles and decorations that have been passed down the generations it’s time to get them out and put them in pride of place. If they don’t match your tree, then use them in other areas such as on doors or windows to give that homely feel full of nostalgia.

Try Alistair’s, Floreal and Country Flowers to update your Christmas look, and we will be giving you ideas for wrapping and decorating and laying your festive table soon!
